Objective of the Women of Distinction Program:

  • To celebrate women of distinction in our community
  • To recognize women who have worked to benefit the lives of women and children in Ketchikan
  • To honor unsung heroes of the community, as well as those with publicly recognized achievement
  • To encourage community members and groups to recognize women of distinction within their organization
  • To support WISH’s work with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Awards Criteria:

  1. Candidate has demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality of life for women and children in Ketchikan
  2. Candidate has demonstrated qualities of integrity, dedication, motivation and leadership in
  3. Candidate has demonstrated qualities of a role model.
  4. the community.
  5. Candidate has demonstrated qualities of teamwork and the willingness to share her skills and expertise.

Nominees do not have to be from the field of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Current WISH Board members and employees cannot be considered for nomination nor can they personally submit nominations.
